I haven't been around deviantART (as usual!) but this time it's because in the past few months I've been abroad, been working, been moving apartments (twice!), and been raising a new parrot.  I am still finding a little time for art, though.  But before I get the chance to upload it, I want to direct you to a new artist in town, ~Michael-Port.

He's a participant at the senior center where I work, and I've been helping him photograph his art and putting it on the Internet.  All of his pieces are rather large and done only with the pencils, ballpoint pens, and sharpies we have at the center.  He references classical icon style, but draws just from memory.  It takes him about a month to finish each piece, as he is only able to work on it for a few hours a day, every few days.  His only art training is a lettering course he took in high school over fifty years ago.
